The Arts Program is designed to be fun and inviting for all members, with an effort made to attract teens and
young people of all backgrounds. Programs in this area enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, hands-on design, performing arts and creative writing.
Members of all ages create colorful wall tiles and dramatic murals, as well as functional ware like coffee mugs, dinner plates and serving pieces. Young imaginations get a workout as novice ceramists create fanciful fish-shaped plates and other decorative pieces. Colorful and creative designs that relate to the Club and its programs are proudly displayed above the entrance to the Club’s main facility.
National Fine Arts Exhibit
This year-round fine arts program promotes artistic expression and cultural enrichment through classes, special events and fine art exhibits. All Club members are encouraged to discover and develop their creative talents through drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media and sculpture. Artwork is exhibited at many local and regional locations, giving young artists the opportunity to see their work professionally displayed before their families, peers and community. Selected pieces are then considered for inclusion in the National Fine Arts Exhibit, showcased at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Conference.
